Word of the Month


Define the word and where it originated. All work must be completed in the library using library materials – no computers. If your answer is correct, you will be entered into a drawing to win a free large, plain pizza from Village Pizza.

Registration is required and begins Monday, October 23rd for residents and Monday, November 13th for nonresidents.

6:00pm: TOTALLY TURKEY: all ages

Celebrate Kevin the Town Turkey! Stories, songs and a create your own Turkey Magnet craft! Fun for the whole family.


November 28th &

December 5th, 12th, 19th, & 26th

11:00am: YOGA FOR KIDS: for 2-5 year olds

Participate in yoga related games & songs that tie into the theme of the day.

4:00pm: READ TO A DOG: for 5-12 year olds

Read to Nala, a Reading Education Assistance Dog from Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs. Children will register for 10 minutes of reading time.  


WRITING CONTEST: 3rd-5th grade students that attend a school located in Wethersfield

To enter, write an essay answering the following question: “What is your favorite activity during the winter holiday, and why?” Winner will “light the tree” during the Wethersfield Chamber of Commerce 8th Annual Holidays on Main event on Thursday, December 7th. Return entry no later than 4:45pm on Wednesday, November 15, 2017. See flyer for more information.

Autumn 2017 Literacy Classes

Resident registration begins for all programs on Monday, August 28th .

Nonresident registration will begin Wednesday, September 13th.

Stimulating lapsit program. Includes sharing board books, nursery rhymes & bouncing games.

Parent participation is key!

This program is designed to help develop pre-reading skills and to enjoy theme based stories, fingerplays, songs & games.

10:30am: WEE READ: storytime for 22-35 months

Exciting program where toddlers begin to appreciate longer stories & participate in group activities.

Drop-in family fun with a story and a song.
