Inventions & Inventors: Read about history’s great inventors & inventions, or check out books to help you come up with your very own.

Read Alongs: Picture book with audio CD kits to help your child read along while listening to the story.

Super Heroes: Check out books about Batman, Spider-man, and many more.

Princess Tales: Enchanting tales about princesses and royalty!

Word of the Month

Phreatic

Define the word and where it originated. All work must be completed in the library using library materials – no computers. If your answer is correct, you will be entered into a drawing to win a free large, plain pizza from Village Pizza.

Nutmeg Voting: for 2nd – 6th graders

Visit the library to cast your vote for your favorite 2017 Elementary or Intermediate Nutmeg Nominee.

6:30pm: ESCAPE THE LIBRARY:LEGO® BATMAN EDITION: 4th – 6th graders

Solve riddles & puzzles, discover clues & break codes to find the key to escape! Can you and your team solve it all before the clock runs out?

April 13th

2:00pm: FAMILY MOVIE AFTERNOON:SING: all ages, movie is rated PG

Bring a snack and a blanket and enjoy the show!

SPRING 2017 LITERACY CLASSES

Februray 27, 2017 - April 30, 2017

Registration begins Friday, January 27th for residents and Wednesday, February 22nd for nonresidents.

11:00am: MOTHER GOOSE TIME: storytime for Birth-21 months

Stimulating lapsit program. Includes sharing board books, nursery rhymes & bouncing games.

Parent participation is key!

6:30pm: BOOK BITES: for 2nd – 4th graders

Explore the Elementary Nutmeg Nominees with snacks, crafts & fun activities!

Nutmeg Award Book Discussion Series with a light supper.

10:30am: BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS: storytime for 3-5 year olds

This program is designed to help develop pre-reading skills and to enjoy theme based stories, fingerplays, songs & games.

 10:30am: WEE READ: storytime for 22-35 months

Exciting program where toddlers begin to appreciate longer stories & participate in group activities.
