We offer a variety of computer classes reflecting the requests and
needs of our patrons. Any suggestions regarding the classes are welcomed.
The classes are one hour in length and space is limited so sign up
early. You can sign up by calling or stopping in at the Library. All
classes are held in the library and are conducted in a lecture format.
One may sign up for the classes on
the first day of the month in which
the classes will be given. During the
first week of signup
Wethersfield residents are
given preference.

Classes to be offered in July:
Tuesday, July 15:
Introduction to the Internet : This class is intended for
people with no computer experience. You will learn how to use the mouse and how
to access the Internet. ISPs and connecting to the Internet will be discussed.
Searching will be demonstrated. 1:30
All You Need to Know About Email: You do NOT need to own
a computer to have email! In this class you will be shown how to sign up for
email. You will learn the various functins of an email program. 3:00
Wednesday, July 16:
How to Find Information on the Internet: This class is designed
first of all to take a look at the databases (World Book, Novelist, EBSCO, RefUSA
and others) to which the Library subscribes. You will also be shown the iCONN
databases and searching in general. 10:15
Microsoft Word: This class is an introduction to word processing
on the computer. The very basics of opening a program and saving are demonstrated.
You will learn the basic formatting techniques. Most of the information is applicable
to all word processing programs.
