Technology Classes


We offer a variety of computer classes reflecting the requests and needs of our patrons. Space is limited so sign up early. You can sign up by calling, emailing, or stopping in at the library. All classes are held in the library. The classes are FREE!

This month's classes:

May 8: Understanding Email (Gmail)
You will be creating and logging in to a Gmail (Google) email account. You will also become familiar with basic functions like folders, the calendar, and Google Drive.
Requirement: Basic familiarity with the mouse and the keyboard and computer navigation. A Gmail account is not required. If you have one, please make sure you know the address and password so you can access it at the library. For assistance with non-Gmail accounts, please make a Book-a-Librarian appointment.

May 22: Library Services
Are you confused by the catalog? Do you wonder what Zinio is? We can help! Learn how to navigate within our catalog and your library account to search, place holds, renew items, and perform other functions. We’ll also be going over the digital services Zinio (magazines) and Freegal (music).
Requirement: Basic familiarity with the mouse and the keyboard and computer navigation. You must also have a working library card and an email account that you can access on a library computer.

Get one-on-one help with computers, ebook readers, tablets, smartphones, and library databases by appointment. We will offer one hour sessions on:
· Basic computer skills: using the mouse, basic terminology, navigating the desktop environment
· Overdrive: downloading ebooks and audiobooks
· Freegal & Zinio: downloading free music and online magazines
· Databases: JobNow!, Lynda, AtoZdatabases, Consumer Reports
· iPads and Android tablets
· And more!
