Technology Classes


We offer a variety of computer classes reflecting the requests and needs of our patrons. Space is limited so sign up early. You can sign up by calling, emailing, or stopping in at the library. All classes are held in the library. The classes are FREE!

Microsoft Word: Basics (November 8th & 13th)

An introduction to one of the most popular word processing programs. Learn how to create, edit and save documents; how to format and print; along with other tips and hints. This class is intended for beginners; if you need advanced instruction or have specific questions, please schedule a Book-a-Librarian session.
PC Literacy or familiarity with the mouse and the keyboard and some basic computer navigation is required.


OverDrive & Libby (November 22nd & 27th)

Learn how to checkout and place holds on free e-books and audiobooks from the library. You can download books to a tablet, e-reader (Kindle, Nook & more), or read them in a browser. Also learn about OverDrive’s new Libby app!
A valid library card is required.


Book-a-Librarian

Get one-on-one help with computers, ebook readers, tablets, smartphones, and library databases by appointment. We will offer 45-minute sessions on:

  • Basic computer skills: using the mouse, basic terminology, navigating the desktop environment
  • Overdrive: downloading ebooks and audiobooks
  • Freegal & RB Digital: downloading free music and online magazines
  • Databases: JobNow!, Lynda, AtoZdatabases, Consumer Reports
  • iPads and Android tablets
