Library Hours
Homebound Service
Books and more brought to your door…
About the service
Wethersfield Library Homebound Services delivers books, audiobooks, and music CDs to your door on a once-a-month basis.
Who is eligible?
Any homebound resident of Wethersfield may use our service. A “homebound” resident is someone who is unable to transport himself to the library, and is also unable to arrange for transport by a friend or nearby family.
How the service works:
You and your healthcare professional complete the enclosed application and mail it to the library. Once we have received your application and determined that you are eligible for homebound service, we will contact you and ask you to fill out a survey of reading/listening likes and dislikes. Based on your answers, a librarian will make choices for you from our collection of available materials.
A volunteer will deliver a canvas bag containing your items to your front door during the first week of each month. At the time of delivery, the volunteer will pick up the previously-delivered bag of checked-out materials and return those materials to the library.
What can be borrowed:
1. Books; Including Large Print
2. Audiobooks on CD
3. Music CDs
4. DVDs
You may also make specific title requests.
